Sri K. Puttaswamy First Grade College (SKPFGC), Mysuru

Vidyavardhaka First Grade College was established in 1978 under the auspices of Vidyavardhaka Sangha (R) with a modest beginning of just 40 students enrolled in the B.B.M. course. In 1979, the college expanded its academic offerings by introducing the B.Com. program with an additional intake of 50 students. Affiliated to the University of Mysore, the college is recognized under Section 12(B) and Section 2(F) of the UGC Act, and is duly approved by the Government of Karnataka. Over the years, the college has witnessed remarkable growth and currently caters to around 1500 students, offering: Four sections of the B.Com. program One section each of B.B.A. and B.A. Two sections of BCA With a legacy of over three decades, the college has consistently maintained an excellent academic track record. Until 2004, our students secured 47 university ranks in B.Com., B.B.A., and B.C.S. courses. After the University of Mysore discontinued the rank system, the college continued to uphold its academic excellence, producing numerous distinction holders every year. Recognizing the aspirations of its undergraduate students, the management established a Postgraduate Centre in 2011-12, introducing the M.Com. program. Further expanding its academic horizon, the college now also offers Ph.D. programs in Commerce and Management. Starting from the academic year 2025-26, the college will offer a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program, aligning with industry demands and student interests. The college has been accredited with a "B++" grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and has received AICTE approval for professional courses such as BBA, BCA, and MCA.
